I find it very hard to believe there was a tracking collar but no name tag.

I promise you if that was one of mine I would be neutering a few shelter folks.

There is no way that dog had a tracking collar on and no name tag somewhere.

We have had a few run ins with some of the local "rescue groups" around here. They now understand with perfect clarity that they do not neuter a hound period without checking first if it was lost from here or someone I know.

When they found out some of these dogs are worth more than a brand new pickup truck, and that we had no problem spending that much in court, they looked at life in a whole new light.

My exact words were I would chastize them even after death, and in court to my last dollar. DNA evidence is a powerfull tool when dealing with these idiots.

You can believe that there is a guy around this part of the country that when he loads his hound he leaves the name tag collar on the chain and only puts a tracking collar on the dog with NO NAME TAG on it I've questioned him on this and he says the dog has a tracking collar on.

that is absolutelty rediculious! I hate it when shelters act like we dog owners are so hard on the dog and act like we don't take care of them. they are just mad because we make them useful-by hunting-and make them live outside rather than keeping them in the house to lay on the couch and get overweight and have hip problems the rest of their life....what a joke! and that sucks who evers dog that was, he wasnt a bad looking fella!
happy hunting and take care

Read the insert for 11/23, kinda makes me wonder if the hound is from Marion, AR. It would take a hell of a good tracking system to track one from there to Cape Girardeau, MO. I would like to see the tracking collar, all you would have to do is call the company that made it and give them the numbers off it and they could tell you who the collar was suppose to belong to.

Oh yeah, I know all about it. Went in November to our local animal shelter looking for a dog that had belonged to us that the new owner lost in less than a week. I was given the 3rd degree, told that people like us were the reason for the over-population of cats and dogs, told that we should have been a more responsible pet owner (HELLO... I didn't loose the dog!!!), that it was rediculous to be a part of any organization that would not allow spayed and neutered animals to compete, blah, blah, blah..

I have wrote two complaints about our shelter and PETA since then to our local paper for the opinions column, funny neither of those have been published but everyone elses crap trashing each presidentail candidate and complaining about garbage pick-up has been.
