Bad experiences with trainers

I have never sent a hound to a trainer before, but I do have a young hound I would like to have hunted on coon. Has anyone ever had bad experiences doing this.

Jim, isn't there a guy in south eastern Minnesotta that trains too or does he just hunt them for a month?

All you can do is provide a way to the timber ,,,,,either they have it or not maybe a little correction at times

Dewayne Edmondson and I spent every night for over a year training other peoples dogs. To the tune of 10 dogs a month. We were in the timber 6 to 8 hours a night hunting them in 2 to 3 hour shifts.

Back then we got $150 a month per dog. I was making $3.65 an hour working at a grocery store, clearing less than $140 a week. Gas was around $.89 a gallon, and we used lots of gallons. Not to mention wore out a couple trucks.

I quit years ago because the price I would have to charge was more than the average guy could afford.

We made some nice dogs back then though. Most of those dogs went back home with raw pads and no toenails.
