..feeder bucket question........
..........I put one up about a week ago..........question#1>little suckers are eating 60 pounds of dog food in 2 nights.how many coons y'all reckon this is??..........question#2>ever have coyotes eat the feed?
i bet your feeding coons...but your also feeding possums,deer turkey etc.....and yes coyotes will eat corn ive seen trail cam pics of them doing it....

...got dog food in it, bud......no deer sign around the feeder...no turkeys either............have a slight idea how many because my trail camera caught 13 in one picture..........

John if you have dog food in it them yotes will feast out of that feeder. I put mine up off the ground so they can't catch my coons off the ground and eat out of my buckets. But who am I, I don't know nothing about feeder buckets. LOL!!!!!!!

my cousin has corn that he puts out and has 12 in one pic it was funny though before winter he had 6 after winter 6 little new ones came in,, that was last year we killed 4 of his coons this year so now he might be around 18 but there are prolly foxes eating too ,,if u dont want to buy that much dog food try only putting out 10 pounds or 20 instead of all of that

My Dad saw this thread earlier and wanted me to pass on this info for you.
The whole idea of a feeder is just to attract the coon to the area.
1. Get it off the ground. Hang it on a tree with an out cropping branch that's about head high. Use sturdy rope or chain.
2. Stuff it with leaves and sticks and only use a couple hand fulls of dog food. Let them work for it, they will.
3. Do you know where your dens are? If so Do Not place the feeder too close to one. Otherwise you'll end up with the coon leaving the feeder when it hears the hounds and running into the den where you can't see it.

hey john hows it going.me and a friend of mine had a place we hunted where we had a 55 gallon drum hung about 1 to 2 feet off the ground and they would empty it in about a week and a half.i no it was coons eating it cause we only had 1 inch pvc in it and just about every time we went to the feeder we would run 6,8 or 10 coon off the bucket.wish we could still hunt their but he sold the property.sounds like you got a good place to start some pups.GOOD LUCK!!
