That's what I'm trying to find out. John mentioned a dog had him in a pedigree just wondering if he is the old Spanky II. Maybe a man could find out a little more. I suprised UKC doesn't have his reg number maybe a person could find a littermate brother or something who knows.

Was there really a Spanky II? Has anyone ever seen a pedigree on him? Has he been dug up from his grave yet? I've always considered him a myth, but that's just me. Help us out here John Vaught.

this was a question about Southern Knight

Has anyone heard or seen any dogs out of this hound that is or is making coon dogs. There is a young male here in the county that is a grand son of Knight, and a grand son of Spanky, and Spanky II. He also shows Hammer XVII. in his 3 generation pedigree.....Does anyone know of this cross anywhere that is turning out to be anything as of yet. Ron Brown owns or did own both Dam and Sire of this pup.....

I talked to Bob Morse and he had the Spanky II dog at his house for a while. He said he looked exactly like Spanky except for his face. He was supposed to be a nice cooner but nothing compaired to his daddy.

but Mackie had the ONLY dog that proved to be out of Spanky? Smokey River Crazys Blue Fly had to be out of him, as all the grandpups, etc, havent had any papers pulled....or was it the only dog still alive that was tested that proved to be out of Spanky....I had a dog, a 5 yr old, a couple years back, that was out of Spanky, and I would almost guarantee his papers were right.....he had the exact same build, color, head, looked a lot like the pics.....very, very tight on track, treein machine....either a layup machine that treed coon that were always hidden, or a slick treein fool, but he made a ton of BIG trees, but could hardly ever see a coon.....he would have demolished ppl in thick coon I bet.....

I know there are others out of Spanky that are known, and also do believe if truth was known a lot of hounds out west are from this old hound. He didn't stay out there and not get used all he could for breeding of course this is only my opinion as I know all will tel me what they think of it....Replies will determine future post by me on this subject.....

I read that post wrong.....Boy, thats kinda funny Mackie, I think I would have UKC double check the letter you got, tellin u your dog is the ONLY one out of Spanky, and make sure it dont say Your dog is the ONLY one NOT out of SPanky......lol.....

My guess is that it would take 10 railroad cars to haul the dogs out of the west out of Spanky, and not showing that they are and another 2 to haul showing they are but are not...This old hound had a life of joy out there......

Jerry Winn said that they bred Crazy to Spanky and Oxy to Spanky II. Warren said they were both bred to old Spanky.

Spanky II was supposed to be out of Spanky and a littermate to Spanky's mother. I'm not sure but that came from the horses mouth and who knows the absolute truth. I wish there was some way to get the dna stuff lined out.

not to hard to figure, there were dogs they said out of him, and wasn't....... so you know there are dogs that are out of him, and they are saying they are not. pretty easy to understand, and I am not accusing whoever was responsible for all this mess with this dog, but as it has been proven this went on, and now is public record.........

Why is no one using the Spanky semen now that it is DNA'd? Or are they and just not broadcasting it? I for one think it would be a hell of a deal to have a litter of real life legitimate DNA'd Spanky pups. I've had two in my life that were out of him for real and would not be scared to try another.

John Vaught, what's Dave Dean get for a few straws? You know him well ,right? Will he breed a man's dog with this semen? It's advertised I believe.
