Garmin astro owners(check this out)

I have my system downloaded with every state, shows all roads, backroads, small creeks, big creeks, rivers, topo maps(that i thought i would hate but love them now very handy in the hills) amazing its like going from a tracker to the asto. Or getting used to having the track, them forgeting it and loosing a dog.

call me for info on how to get you're done, you will love

You get different answers from Garmin, one says 6-8 weeks and another says Garmin is happy with their product.

After walking three miles thru briars, black mud, over/under logs getting to my female the other night just to find her treed next to a dirt road….I decided to get this unit.

It should be here next week and I can't wait.

My understanding is, it's easier to use then most GPS or tracking systems.

One thing for sure, if all the bugs do get worked out then most other tracking system companies will be hurting for business unless they come out with something better.

If this system works out for me, I will never go back.

up to 10 dogs and it's standard with the ASTRO.

Dan,

One thing for sure, if all the bugs do get worked out then most other tracking system companies will be hurting for business unless they come out with something better.

Trust me I'm still nervious about this system but It’s worth a try.

I drop hunt a dog every 1-2 miles apart and this could be come a great tool for me.

can someone else pick up your collar or is made to work only on your system? I have been holding off waiting on the new collars seems like that is the only complaints anyone has had.

Haven't got mine yet but it's my understanding that you have to touch the DC20 and receivers antenna together (physically) to program a collar in, So don’t leave the collar laying around for someone to steal.

I hate figuring out new gadgets..

I am probably the last person on earth that refuses to carry a cell phone...

But Im really feeling like I want one of these, been telling myself to wait till the collars improve, but Im not sure I can hold out much longer.

dave, josh,
been hunting with dave malkerson aka mr gadget! he is using one and it works awesome. has loaded topo maps and you can see where dogs have worked their way along the side hill and up a creek to a new patch. lets you know what your dog is doing and for us on last thursday let us know our dogs had hunted the best part of the woods and without a bark we could go home knowing the coon werent moving. i would not buy a dog without hunting it first with this unit on! like it a lot.

Got mine today. This system is Bad A--. Very sensitive. Show every little step..wow

Concerned:

It has a little cheap mounting bracket for the collar and was thinking maybe I should make a metal bracket….Anyone have any trouble with factory mounting bracket for collar?
