We havn't hunted this summer as much as we have in the past. Va has a closed season in June and July so that is one reason. I have hunted young dogs in the summer all the way through. Last year though one of my buddys did let a hound get too hot and She didn't make it. Just got out of pocket and tree'd to long. As far as the heat or how hot if it gets over 95 here we generally won't go. The humidity plays a big factor as well. And it depends on the dog. Some can take the heat better than others. Like the post above if the dogs get tree'd and it suits you I quit. Seems like the hunting is better in the summer though. Always have a jug of water for the dogs and that seems to help more than anything.
