Just buy a compass!!!LMAO Really I have a Magellan Explorist 500 and love it. You can get software that really gets down to the nitty gritty. Easy to use and in color> I wouldn't buy anything without a color screen!!! JMO

Anything from the Magellan Explorist series. Everyone i have hunted with that has the Etrex has problems with it picking up around here. In fact, a hunter a guided at the Futurity actually threw his down the road. I guess it wasnt his 1st problem! lol

i leave a tracking collar in the truck. ha, i have a tracker on my belt. havnt got too lost yet. always find my way out alive. i will get a Gps whenever i get really lost for once, then i will probaly never HAVE to use it. haha

I use a Garmin 60csx. What ever you decide to buy you want to have a color screen with memory to be able to download maps. Garmins new technology I have never lost satilites yet.
