Does anyone else have this problem? May need counciling

I get pup crazy. I just buy another here or there until I have so many it stresses me out. My list now;

1 - 6 mths old
4 - 7 mths old
1 - 8 mths old
2 - 1 1/2 old
1 - hunts Sr Spring SS

I get myself so loaded down it becomes work instead of pleasure. I need to change my ways......LOL

I always "think" having another pup will be great till I get another one. I have settled on the system that I will only purchase or one pup every 2 years so that by the time it is ready to start my current dog is at least closing in on 3 years old and should be pretty dang close to finished.

The only think having too many young dogs does is shortchange them. I guarentee one dog can outhunt me any day.

I have the same problem.. I love starting pups. I like watching them when they see their reaction to their first "game", when the light bulb goes off in their head, and I like watching them grow and progress.

We have currently

2-10 month old littermates

1-9 month old

1- 6 month old

1- almost 2 week old pup.

We also have a 1 1/2 year old and 3 adult dogs.. We are planning on selling 1 of the littermates before bear season and probably 1 after bear season. We also have a friends dogs at the house.. So add 1 more 10 month old and a 4 month old. I have just been pup training this winter LOL.

My biggest headache with coonhunting is trying to get pups started. My list right now.

1. One old bluetick female.

No more pups for me. I;ll leave that up to other folks and when my dog dies I'll save money and get me another one that's allready treeing coons.

Sheep, it seems I have a hard time starting pups also, I dont know for the life of me why! My regular hunting buddy takes pups out of the same litter as me and gets them going lickety split and I will use the same technique! I guess I'm just stupid or something! But I can definately do a better job finishing a pup. Once he gets em started he gives em to me and I finish em. I guess if this is what it takes it aint a bad system for both of us. Even though it takes me longer it seems like I always end up with the better dog when it is all said and done,LOL!

We are guilty of being coonhound addicts ourselves. I believe we all need to stand in support each other and start a 12 step program for our disease.
