I went the other night and treed in the ground, a den and two singles, had a pretty good hunt. A good friend of mine had a great hunt on the same night. He took a 10mo old male by himself out of my dog and treed three single on the outside. This pup is clicking and doing it right whether with company or not! He said the last tree the dog made it sounded like he was booger barking then he came treed in someones backyard, he said when he got to the pup he had a little fuzzy white house dog treed up on a stump, I bout rolled in the floor when I heard this one! Needless to say he said the pup got a correction!

jeromy gregory

when they say a hound has a cold nose it has nothing to do with the tempature, a cold nosed hound is one that can pick up aa old track and finish it up with a coon at the end of the track

Cold Tracks!

Let's remember this : You can get hot tracks on cold nights. You can get cold tracks on hot nights.

The weather doesn't determine how hot or cold the track is.

The thing is : You will hit fewer good tracks in cold weather because coon don't move as much in cold weather. I'm not as active in cold weather either (a warm house feels much better).

Opossum-

I'd rather have her tree one or two a year then run a fox or a deer for three hours. Opossum at least either tree real fast or never get the chance to make it up a tree, its a real quick process.
