no sir it doesnt mean they wont honor another dog, its obvious by your comment you are new to the sport so it will be my pleasure to explain what that means to a rookie.
you see down here, we dont have pup up dogs, the woods are big and the coon are scattered, so if they hit one relatively quick they will run and tree with the other dogs, if not, these dogs have the hunt and independance to get as deep as it takes to go find and coon and tree it, without needing any help doing it. you see the time and distance gives the dogs the chance to get scattered, lots of dogs, probally like the kind you are hunting, will either check back in, just piddle out there alittle ways out or me too to my type of dogs when it is treed, these type of dogs are going to go get it done.
not honoring another dog is independance to a fault, just let me know if i can teach you anything else.
