House's Lipper semen?

Is anyone getting any pups from the Lipper semen. The last few men ive talked with that bought it didnt get any pups.

On a side note, why do you think there havent been the quality pups from the semen as there were when Lipper was living? Are the right females not being bred to it or what?

QUESTIONS

1. WHAT WAS LIPPER'S SPERM COUNT WHEN SEMEN WAS DRAWN ?

2. HOW WAS THE PROCEDURE DONE ( WAS THE DEAD SPERM TAKEN OUT BEFORE FROZEN ).

3. WHAT WAS THE QUALTY OF THE SPERM ? ( GOOD, FAIR, AVG )

4. WAS IT WATERED DOWN TO PRODUCE MORE STRAWS ?

Those are all very well possible. I believe Doyen Crites told me that Once Frozen said that they needed 3 straws to do a breeding of it. So it may very well be watered down.

I just cant figure why no top pups have been born out of the semen. Some reproducing females have been bred to it, but very few to none of the pups are showing up at the Super Stakes, Futurity.

I just believe that it is today's females, because Lipper seemed to cross average to above average on all bloodlines.

Could it be that the pups are priced so high that they are not getting to the men who are great pup trainers?

Gosh, i would imagine Lipper's Stylish Cade, and TJ's Stylish Lipper are at least 5-6 years old now. I dont know if any are older than that or not.

IT APPEARS TO ME THE LIPPER-SICLE PUPS HAVE ALOT MORE IN COMMON WITH HOPKINS CASH THAN OLD LIPPER. I WONDER WHAT THE RESULTS WOULD BE IF THE LIPPER-SICLE PUPS WERE DNA PROFILED TO HOPKIN'S CASH? I BET THEY ARE MORE CLOSELY RELATED THAN MOST THINK.

The semen pups turn out at about the same rate as the ones he sired while alive. 7% make nite champion, 93% don't make it.

I'm pretty sure a guy up here had about 12 semen pups a year or so ago.I think they have the same dam as my rat gyp.I've heard nothing about the pups.Ican give you his number if you want it.

I'm no expert, but its pretty well proven that it takes thousands and thousands of healthy sperm to ensure one egg gets fertilized.

Friend of mine had two pups out of Lipper semen and they are 5 months old now. He was hoping to get more, but happy with the two.

He bred the same grand nite female to Cade the time before with exceptional results. The one female out of that cross made it to the top ten this past weekend at the futurity. I have hunted with others from that litter and are making nice hounds.

Hope this helps for those of you wanting to know about pups out of Lippers semen. I know of two here in Missouri. (both females)

it takes

less straws if you have it done surgically then artificial breeding and the conception rate is better!!jmo from what my vet has told me.

AFTER LIPPERS DEATH DEC. 26TH 1995 HE WAS PUT IN A FREEZER AND LATER UNTHAWED AND SWABBED IN THE PRESENCE OF MAC McCALLISTER AND JOE HOUSE.LIPPER WAS THEN DNA PROFILED.THIS DNA IS A MATCH TO DOGS HE SIRED WHILE LIVING AND SEMEN DOGS!

I HAVE TWO GIPS AT A CANINE BREEDING FACILITY BEING BRED TO LIPPER SEMEN .IT TAKES A WELL BRED PROVEN REPRODUCING FEMALE BRED TO A REPRODUCING STUD DOG TO GET ANY NUMBER OF QUALITY PUPS. A LARGE PERCENTAGE RELIES ON THE FEMALE!!! THIS IS A PROVEN FACT!!!

Lipper seemed to throw nice pups off any female when he was in his breeding prime. Im not reccomending breeding a sorry female, but there is a difference in the quality pups from Lipper and Lipper semen. I personally believe the pup are too expensive to get to capable pup men. But thats just my opinion.

Good luck on getting pups! I've seen men spend alot of $$$ on breeding to this Lipper semen, and not get the first pup. It seems to be a crap shoot
