"Spectracide" dust took care of those around my dog pen. Comes in a plastic, black container and it's dust. You just sprinkle some on top of the bed. Worked fast.

I use

The HOME DEFENSE liquid sold at Wal Mart.
Put it on "STREAM" not spray
Then put a stream around the PERIMETER of your pens and where you keep your feed. It lasts for up to 6 months unless it rains heavily - then you need to apply it again.
I learned this from a professional exterminator. The dogs don't ever come in contact with it but it keeps out ants & other bugs. If you use it inside pens or houses where dogs will be walking - wait for it to dry before letting the dogs in that area.
I put it around the perimeter of my concrete kennel building slab and around the areas where feeders are hanging & IT WORKS. I don't use insecticides or SEVIN DUST where they would come in direct contact with the dogs because dogs absorb the toxins into their systems and also would be more apt to develop cancer.

Ants in feed

Try mounting your feeder on wall or post , BUT and this the big BUT,
mount it off off wall or post by a couple of inches.. Use a small piece of copper pipe to hold off, using screws or bolts... Apply plain old axle grease on copper piping , NO MORE ANTS... Just make sure nothing touchs feeder BUT where piping is with grease... Once maybe twice a year is all it takes..... try it you'll like it ....

Boil you 4 gallons of water and pour it on every mound you see in your yard. Soakum real good and you will more than likely get that queen. Its the cheapest way to gettum.
