Of the registered Plotts I tend to agree on the Poacher bred stuff , Pocahantos , and a line of Plott dogs owned by a gentlemen by the name of Charlie near Shreveport , LA. but these are the only registered Plotts I have ever hunted with. Now I have hunted with lots of grade Plotts in NC that some of those families have had for years and they are top notch dogs as well. JMHO

Poacher

You cannot go wrong with a Poacher bred Plott or the men behind them!! They'll tell you straight and if you let them know the specific traits you need they'll direct you to the right cross for you! Good luck, wish u the best! PLOTTS HAVE THE MEAT WHEN THEY TREE!!

It's hard to beat the Herrell Bread dogs and the Redwood Dogs. I have a Herrell bread dog and a poacher bread dog. I like them both. It just depends on what you plan on hunting for and what kind of hunting style you like.
