Country pups

Guys I hunted with the cracker pup out of country. Got to himself and had them eyes when you got there. Pup punched a hole in the dark the night I saw him go. I'm hearing the same results from other country pups.

Thanks for posting this, it seems like some folks only want to mention the dogs that are not doing so good. Every stud dog is going to produce some duds when you don't pick and choose the females you breed to, even if you do they all do not turn out good. It's good to see that BC is producing the kind of dogs anyone would be proud to hunt. I hope he turns out to be a top reproducer in the Bluetick breed and for those XBreeds as well. Dave

Lol. Can't help myself, I just like to see both sides of any subject and not a one sided approach. All in the sense of fair play, sounds like he can definitely put some decent pups on the ground, the rest depends on the trainer and we know that not everyone is a good trainer. Dave

62 yrs old and them ole timers have lied to me my whole hunting career! I was always told the blue ticks needed help from the walkers to up their win percentages. The walkers Dont look like to me got no trouble with their win percentages.

Maybe what's good for the goose is good for the gander, X breed let's you get the best of both worlds. There are coon dogs in both breeds and now you can cross coon dog to coon dog just like the old foundation stock it may have both breeds. Hopefully, we can start seeing dogs with a real hound mouth and a nose that can trail more than a minute old track and a brain to tree up the right tree. Dave

Tar, do you think Walker men are breeding to this blue tick to get what you're talking about?

Love a big bawl mouth dog that give a distinct locate and rolls over to a hard chop. Also, love a dog that has the meat when it parks. Really love a dog that you can honestly call a coon dog, color does not matter to me. I am hunting all Walker dog and have for a long time now, but if I find the right dog in any breed, I will try and buy it. I am not blind to a certain color, I am more concerned with ability and like to hunt the best I can find. One of the very best dogs I have even hunted with and owned was a X breed Bluetick, man what I would give for another dog as good as he was. Dave

Nope they are breeding to him because he is a bluetick that hunts like the bad habit style walkers. I already got Double bred bad habit Style walkers.

Oh the pups sell high too !

Do you really think it's just his hunting style? Most Walker dogs don't have a problem going hunting. Why do you think his pups sell for high prices? Just curious. Dave

You think he is the only winner in the world ? The bluetick people needed a great white hope he is it. The walker people like his style and need an outcross because their stuff is so tight it’s causing health issues. That’s why I was interested in him. Of course the ones I hunted with did not suit me but they might suit sombody else perfectly. I ain’t picking on him or his pups y’all wanted some live action didn’t you lol.

Live action, lol. We are just giving you something to think about as you ride around those hay fields, something to help you pass the time. I know how hot it gets out there this time of year and how boring those hay fields can get, just wanted you to have something interesting to talk about. Maybe you can think of something nice to say about the Bluetick Breed, it's not just BC there are more good Blueticks, just as there are in other breeds. I do agree that BC is stirring interest as he is capable of winning any hunt in the country. Competition brings out the best in every sport, maybe all breeds will benefit from all the attention BC is bringing to the coon hunting community. The Blueticks and English dogs are starting to strut their stuff in competition, it's no longer a given that a Walker dog will win every major hunt in the country. The XBreed program gives everyone the chance to pick the best dogs to breed to regardless of breed and still be able to compete in competition hunts. That is something us old timers did not have the opportunity to do, our XBreeds were hunted as grade dogs. I do remember some nice grade dogs that won a truck load of trophies competition hunting, often the high scoring dog of the hunt, in the days of 3 hour hunts. I am always for the best coon dog winning regardless of breed. You beat me with a poodle, I will shake your hand. Dave
