Single registration question for Allen.

"Dan,

Upon review of the Single Registration Application relative to this topic, I've requested a meeting in-house with the powers that be to further discuss certain questions on the app that don't make much sense to me when it comes to an inspectors evaluation. I will respond further after that meeting. Hoping to schedule it on Thursday morning.

I can tell you that an over height dog is currently being single registered. Considering the requirements for registration, IMO, the only evaluation an inspector needs to do is for breed type and color."

Allen,
I had some single registration questions back in July. Was there a meeting and if so what did UKC decide? How does this effect the role of the breed inspector? Do we just look at breed type and color then sign off? No need to check for breed disqualifications or measure?

Dan,

Inspectors will now only inspect the dog for breed type and color, correct. No need for the inspector to measure or check for any dq's.

I'm looking at a new Beagle Registration Application that does not ask for a height measurement.

Allen, so your now saying a dog over 15in. will be accepted and we don't have to measure any more?

I looked at the Beagle Single Registration form on the UKC site and the breed inspector info is the same so it probably has not been updated yet.

I hope there will be something that prevents disqualified dogs from being single registered. The breed disqualifications are genetic faults that can damage the breed. Registering dogs with breed disqualifications would be in direct conflict with the UKC Mission Statement.

It should also prevent oversize(elimination fault) dogs from having an entry card. Not sure how that can be done without a measurement.

Will need to wait until we see the new single registration form.
