i think u could teach some hounds to do it, but it certainly is easier with hounds that are geared that way naturally. having a veteran hound thats already doing it in the back teaches the rest also. as far as a coon you could just trap one hang it up very close to the road maybe even in sight the first time but do it on the up wind side so the scent is flowing to them.ride by slowly and if they make strike put em down.its tougher with a bear .its not like your gonna have one on a leash.a hide may work used the same way but live animal scent is always best.no guarantees but if you are limited on options worth a try.
