I do not think any mayor or governor can cite that act and tell the FBI to get out of their State.

2. And I'm not sure I get your point with the quote of the U.S. Code that specifically tells when the president can use federal troops to stop an insurrection... then you make the claim that he needs the Governor's permission.. i don't see that in the quoted text?

3. If that was the primary take-away from my post, you truly are looking to be argumentative and glossed over the true content, and intent of my post. I hope you have a blessed day- no need to respond. I do not engage in internet keyboard wars.

NO only correcting you..I NEVER SAID "then you make the claim that he needs the Governor's permission".... Except when I said I disagreed that POTUS could just send in troops. HE CAN"T.
THE ENTIRE POST WAS/IS COPIED

SO this excerpt from... MY COPY AND PASTE... in case you missed it...
The governors just like they did in protecting the health and safety of their citizens in the coronavirus [outbreak] and enforcing the rule of law in their states, and they have to ask for the presidentís help for bringing in federal troops,Ē ...
.GGGEEEEZZZZ No need to get so sensitive because I disagreed with your incorrect belief of POTUS power to use troops.

Just saying you quoted it does not mean much... you kinda need to say where you quoted it from. You see the piece you cut and pasted- part of it was a direct quote from U.S. code, and part of it was someone's personal commentary. The way you posted it made it look like it was authoritative when it was actually just an opinion. At least that's my guess, but I can't read it in context. My guess is that author was talking about the fact that Federal Agents can't enforce local or State laws unless authorized by said governments.... but that does not mean they can't enforce federal laws without the governor's permission.

The conversation was about real riots, where the real president sent in more Federal law enforcement agents to protect real federal buildings. That was the conversation to which i said nobody could tell him no to that- he didn't need permission from a mayor to do that.

You said that was false by citing argument relevant to sending the military in to squash an intercession when the rule of law has completely broke down. Nobody was talking about the military. Trust me if those liberal mayors could have forced the feds out they would have... they didn't ask the courts to apply the acts you cited... because they were not relevant. They stood up and "called for the removal of federal agents..." Even though federal agents have complete jurisdiction to enforce federal law within' their jurisdiction (which is the USA)

So again the point of my post was to say it aint' a GOP or Democrat issue it's a heart issue. You decided to use that as a platform to argue against the use of the army... OK, well done.

So the rioters, looters and anarchists are apolitical? You mean that they have no political beliefs. But then you say that the democrats are just playing to their base when they support the rioters that want to tear down our country. It sounds like you are saying that the base of the Democratic party is a bunch of lawless rioters or at least it sounds like the leaders think that.. But you are right about the problem being in their minds and hearts. They have no self control. There is a difference between speaking out about something that you think is wrong and rioting, setting other people's property on fire and tearing down buildings.

Now I never said that all Republicans went to church every Sunday. But the at the heart of the philosophy of the Republican party is a consevative, law abiding Christian belief.

The heart of the Democrat party is a liberal socialist belief.

Back to the original post. A democratic governor and mayor told the police officers to stand down and let the rioters and looters do whatever they wanted without fear of arrest, not a Republican but a Democrat. Apparently he also thought that the rioters and looters were Democratic voters.

GROUP A: The people burning buildings, breaking into stores, stealing things.... no I do not think they are making a political statement or trying to further the cause of their party... I think they are uneducated, disenfranchised, criminal thugs, just stealing- taking advantage of a situation. Likely not registered voters.

GROUP B:
Kool Aid drinkers on the liberal side... Good people, go to work every day, don't hurt anyone.... but think that Group A are victims and "the system" has forced them into this. Make up the base.

GROUP C: The Liberal politician... likely knows that what Group A is doing is wrong... but if they say it is wrong Group B will not connect and vote with them. In fact he finds out that the more he calls Group A victims and blames others, (men, whites, conservatives, etc...) then the more Group B will likely vote for him.

Liberal politicians thought it would look bad for President Trump for this to go on on his watch. It worked with the ignorant and uninformed.

No, I never mentioned anything about troops... the conversation was not about troops. I said Federal Officers (like what happened in real life). Then you either couldn't read it correctly, didn't read it correctly, or made an assumption that fit into you world view.. and then you began your friendly discourse with :

"BUT YOU ARE "WRONG"!!
Mis=information and fallacy."

HERE IS WHAT I SAID...

quote:

BEG to differ... BUT YOU ARE "WRONG"!!
Mis=information and fallacy.

You Conveniently left out BEG TO DIFFER
which was my way of trying to disagree agreeably..
Failure to communicate
Now I will agree without researching that there is possibly a difference in FEDERAL TROOPS and FEDERAL OFFICERS.. But there is a difference from what I understand in their apparent jurisdiction

If you are unaware of what happened or don't remember in PORTLAND this year look it up .many available stories about it

"both Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and CBP confirmed that they have officers on the ground in Portland."

"These are not military troops; ( THIS IS WHAT I THINK WE ARE NOT AGREEING ON)they are federal law enforcement. Margo Schlanger, a senior Homeland Security official under Barack Obama, told us this means not only that they can arrest people (subject to their particular jurisdiction, though itís still not clear how this is applying in Portland), but also that state and local authorities canít tell them to leave."

Itís here, higher taxes, higher interest rates, higher gas, possible loss of guns, etc, etc....... The liberals will control all three branches of government. The next two years could change this great nation in a bad way. We can blame republicans and democrats for voting against trump, not for Biden. We will hopefully survive the next two to four years, but Itís just so hard to think that over half the people in this country hated our president so much. We also need to give these victoryís to the corrupt media. I know he wasnít perfect but Mr. Trump sure loves this country. He is a business man, not a lying, polished politician. This is very, very sad times for this near future of our country.
