another question..

two people in a cast repeatedly strike on the same dog..What is the judges responsibility in the matter ?

I'm assuming it is a hunting-judge.
Hunting Judges
#2 - The Hunting Judge has complete authority and is responsible for scoring all situations.
Rule 4 Minus Points
(e) When handler strikes another handler's dog they are to receive the called position minus. After minus, position becomes available. For second offense see rule 6(m)
Rule 6 Dogs will be Scratched
(m) On second offense, if handler calls another handler's dog.
I've always been told it's the judges responsibility to make an effort to identify which dog barked and score accordingly. There are times that they all fire up prior to a judge getting there to identify and it cannot be determined.

Judge should go to dogs and find out which dog is the 1 barking then minus the other for striking the wrong dog!

can the judge just make a "judgement" call from the cast area with out exerting the effort of walking all that way and visually identify the correct hound..? or just choose which handler they like the most ? or is it the judges RESPONSIBILITY to identify the correct dog ?
