I agree, scent freezes just like everthing else when it gets cold enough. Doesn't mean that cant smell it. Just can't smell it as well.
The statement some one made about wet is better. Dogs probubley have more trouble with wet than anything else in the right conditions. Wet ,temperature comeing down, no wind, the scent pools and spreads out like a blanket. Lots of pups will just run around not able to locate it if it is a layup.
