5 year old feist question

I have a feist that is one heck of a squirrel dog. I bought him about 6 months ago. Only problem with him is you shoot the squirrel out to him and he eats it up before you get to it. I may itís gone in 5 seconds. Iíve tried taking it from him but he growls and I donít wanna get me or my kids bit. Does anyone know what to do Iím not going to put up with my kids or myself being bit

If he was mine i would use a ecollar on him. He grabs the squirrel holler at him then bump him with it, he will get the idea.
