Hunted with a nice young male of Danny Biggert's Friday night called Nt.Ch. Moonlight Outlaw Mac (Dual Grand Ch. Outlaw Billy the Kid x Gr.Nt.Ch. Ky Moonlight Kate) brought him home with me and took him to a ukc hunt last night and he picked up his 4th Nt.Ch. win towards grand nite. One more and Billy The Kid will have his 7th Grand Nite Champion!

Had a good time at the Onsted Michigan PKC Pro Hunt this weekend with Classy Cali.
Treed 4 real live raccoons on Friday and 5 early Saturday in monsoon storm conditions to make it into the final four late Saturday. She was really sick earlyin the week and ddidn't even start eating again till Thursday so I know she was still weak and not feeling 100% but she has a lot of heart and ability. She is also due to have her litter of G Man pups in less than 3 weeks. Her win this weekend puts her solidly in the lead of the Pro Division with about $6000 won so far this year....and for the first time ever a redbone is leading!

Took the new dog I am partners on with Danny Biggert to an RQE this weekend and he scored 625+ and won the whole thing and finished out to a Grand Nite Champion as a 2 yr old.... so me and Gr.Nt.Ch. Moonlight Outlaw Mac will see ya'll at American Redbone days later this week
Mac is out of Dual Grand Ch. Outlaw Billy the Kid and Gr.Nt.Ch. Ky Moonlight Kate.

Good to see ky Kate top of performinse list with 3 pups winning in the hunts and on the producers list with two titled pups and one with wins and to see Mac made her first grnt
Looks like a forth will be in her first hunt this week at red days she is just a baby but we will see how she handles it

I see 2 yr old Dual Grand Ch. All Grand Outlaw G Man is leading the performance points race for the redbone breed....2 yr old Gr.Nt.Ch. Moonlight Outlaw Mac aint far behind. G Man is out of a Billy the Kid female of mine and Mac is directly out of Billy the Kid. Looks like we have several others on the performance points and reproducer lists....we must be doing something right
P.S. Bree just got her 20 pup minimum to make the reproducer list and has two titled pups already and 3 more with at least first place wins that should title out soon so that should put her on the list as well.

Well 2015 has been another great year so far for the moonlight and outlaw dogs great showings at all three red days
Several dogs showing up on the perf and repro lists
With the great line up of young dogs and what's coming on
the future the rest of 2015 and for 2016 looks very bright 😃 roll red roll

I would just like to thank all of the people who have helped to build this line up to what it has become over the years. I think it is safe to say that we are making steady progress and that where ever we go..we usually have a contender in the race. This would not be possible without the help and support of a lot of good people so we thank you!
We have a great group of houndsmen and houndswomen raising, training, and competing with dogs from the Outlaw/Moonlight line and I think we are well positioned going into the fall competition season and should see some nice wins in the future. Good luck to see everyone leading a redbone and I hope to see many of you at the bigger hunts later this year...shane

I have been getting several people contacting me for information on UKC Gr.Nt.Ch. and 2015 AKC Ladies World Champion Moonlight Outlaw Mac.
Here is what I can tell you about Mac...
His sire is Gr.Nt.Ch.Gr.Ch. Outlaw Billy The Kid (semen)
His dam is Gr.Nt.Ch. Ky Moonlight Kate
He finished to Gr.Nt.Ch. as a two year old and just turned 3.
He was started in Ky and then traveled to Danny Biggert's place in Ohio and then on up to his son in law's for some time in Michigan. I partnered with Danny a little less than 3 months ago.
Mac has been in 14 competition hunt casts in three different registries since I picked him up from Danny and has won 12 of the 14 casts.
He finished to Grand Nite by winning an RQE and being high scoring dog with 675+
He won the AKC Overall Ladies World Championship handled by Lisa Key by split treeing twice and having the coon both times.
He has won 5 out of 6 PKC casts he has been in.
He won 4 of 5 casts at american and national redbone days.
He was high scoring grand nite at american redbone days with 975+
He was high scoring grand nite at national redbone days with 675+
Mac is the real McCoy and will go as far as he needs to tree a coon but will tree them behind other dogs if they blow by. He loves to split tree and he is one of the most accurate dogs I have ever walked behind. He has been naturally straight and is a very good natured dog that I often run pups with. I think with his breeding he will reproduce. He is the only Gr.Nt.Ch. dog alive with a pedigree like his. You simply cannot get Billy the Kid, Moonlight Kate, Montana Red Mt Ranger, Burning Ben, Famous Amos, Outlaw Jessie, Millers Red Betsy, Red Oak Mike and Rambling Red Ace any closer together in one pedigree. If you are a fan of these dogs and all the great ones they have produced...this may be a dog that interests you. I have been very low key on Mac because I wanted to thoroughly measure him and put him to the test. I have now seen enough to know he is a very special dog with a bright future ahead of him. I have semen stored on him at Nevergone in Wabash Indiana and will probably be posting a stud thread on him before long with some videos and other information.
I would like to also say thanks to all who have posted and supported what my friends and I are trying to accomplish in the redbone breed. It is very much appreciated...... Shane

I have been hunting Cherry Bomb, Mac, Woody, and Pistol all week and they are all looking good. Cherry, Mac, and Woody are all tuned and ready for Autumn Oaks and the World hunts that follow. With any luck at all...they should have a respectable showing. Looking forward to seeing many other redbones at these hunts. Its been a good year so far...and now we need to give it all we got and try to go out on top!

Found out earlier today that a 2yr old Nt.Ch. (w/2 wins to Grand) out of Jet x Breanna was also bred to Dual Grand Nite Champion Ky Moonlight Woody and is due to have pups about sept 20th. Woody's oldest pups are 9 months old and three of them have already treed coons by themselves so it looks like he may be a reproducer

Just saw where another Double Grand Nite Champion Moonlight Kate bred dog got in the finals of the Grand Masters hunt!
Congrats to Johnno and T and good luck to them tonight.
T is out of Dual Gr. Moonlight Aftershock x Dual Gr. Pepper Ann both of whom are directly out of Moonlight Kate.
Our Grand Nite Ch. Ky Moonlight Breanna is also out of a direct son and direct daughter of Moonlight Kate...and her last litter was out of Dual Grand Ch. Moonlight Aftershock so we expect some great things from this cross. Johnno received a male pup from the cross and we hope he follows in his daddy's footsteps and achieves some greatness of his own someday.
If your into competition hunting or want to be someday and your looking for dogs with a proven competitive edge that is lacking in some areas of the breed....connect the dots (winners) and see where they come from (what lines and common ancestors) and where they seem to keep turning up (winners circle) You may just be surprised at what most have in common. Skip the hype and study the facts when your looking for your next stud or puppy. Too many people out there these days trying to sell the latest greatest redbone this or that....
Everyone has an opinion of what they think makes the best redbones....but thefact is...in ccompetition hunting...the rules and the hunt format decides which redbones are the best in that venue. So if your a competition hunter or aspire to be one some day...do yourself a favor and look more at the facts, and win records of actual competition dogs. Those are not based on the owners opinion of how good his dog is...they are goverened by a strick set of rules and overseen by dog registries that enforce real consequences upon those who try to sidestep the rules. The registries do a great job of keeping accurate and non biased records of individual dogs who win their competition hunts and how they are bred and many specs on the ancestors. I am shocked at how many people ignore this very important and highly reliable information that is free to anyone who wants to use it to connect the dots.
I personally have set some pretty lofty goals for the redbone breed and what I am trying to do within the breed with our breeding program. I have received a lot of guff and insults along the way from those with differing opinions than my own...but I have, and will continue to carry out my plan and breeding program for producing better competition redbones. We still have a lot of hard work ahead of us...but I just wanted everyone who follows what we do or is actually working with us in our program to know that we are making progress and we are inching closer to some of our biggest goals for the breed. I just want to say thanks to everyone involved or just supporting us from the sidelines. Our team...as we like to call it is growing bigger each month. We have a few groups on Facebook where we post videos, pedigrees and other information and just keep everyone up to date on what's going on and where we are and what's next on the agenda. We are trying to be as helpful,encouraging, and supportive of other redbone hunters and breeders as possible ....but because everyone's opinions differ...sometimes we just disagree... But that's healthy and its OK, it doesn't mean we can't be friends and still work together on things we have in common...like the desire to see the redbone breed on top in the competition world!
