thermal imaging

just wondering if anyone is using any for this time of year, im interested in them but not sure what brand and how effective they are with the leaves on trees.. any info would help thanks

yes you can find the coon easier with leaves on most times. I don't have a flur but have the Leopold Tracker. It's smaller and does almost as good. There's some tricks to using it in summer or warmer weather. And if you're trying to shine more straight up the tree. You have to hold your hand around the front of it, near the sensor. The heat from your hand balances the picture out. I also have a night vision/infrared monocular that works great too. No tricks to using it. On the infrared side you'll get eye shine and a very clear picture on night vision. Works great for pine trees.

I use a firefield nightfall 2 5x50 gen 1.

It seems to work very well when I've used it. It's bigger than I'd like it to be. But still small enough to carry.

They work in places that cool off at night. In places where it's over 90 in the day and doesn't cool down much, they don't work so well.
