Keith have you thought of looking at some of your 4 and 5 generation pr bred bear dogs? These guys have nose brains and speed genetically bred into their packs generation after generation

Nothing to do with the Kate dog right? There's a reason they bred her four times. Any breeder worth their weight in gold will look for that female. You bring up batman he's nice but ask Tony Grubbs when he sees that nice female what he thinks. He's probably one of the best breeders in our breed. You don't get where batman is breeding junk only.

Ok you just named a good female not a cull brood bitch again show me a stud consistently reproducing on worthless females. You can't find one because they don't exist

Keith, if you breed to Otis, Strike or Wally I'd like a pup. I enjoyed getting beat by Darla the night I drew out with her, I like how she operates.

Ive hunted against Ike probably 10 times back in his prime. He could work a cold track pretty fast or a hot track real quick. I've never seen Wally go or Troubles go, Wally has to be a good track driving dog as much as he wins in PKC. He is drawing out with Walker dogs constantly and winning. Troubles is about as classy a tree dog as I have seen. I'm not sold on anything yet. I might breed her to a walker. There are some fine hounds close to me. I'll probably end up putting about 10 names in a hat and just drawing one out. It's a crap shoot anyway with this stuff.

I said cull. There is always going to one cross here and there that will reproduce as that cross did. Name one doing it consistently on multiple female. You named one female

Don't over look the Mason dog. I've hunted with him 6 or 8 times. Nice dog. Gets in the dark, gets struck and gets treed. Stays till you get there. Big mouth, good looking. Go hunt with him that's the only way to know what he is.

SMH! You said name you 1 female I did so that's not good enough. You want a cull female. Okay let's hear your definition of a cull brood female. Fact is some males are just natural reproducers no matter what female you cross them with. Then you have some males that are Northern Buck II that couldn't reproduce to save his life.

Buck II

Cant agree totally with you on Buck II. The problem with his pups was alot of them were all track until they got older but if you were patient and waited for tree switch to come on you had the possibility of having a heck of a dog. I had one that was awesome and did it all from a young age but that wasnt always the case. There were some real nice ones off of him but the female does make a difference. Cant dispute what Rex and Jewell have contributed. One of the issues is everyone wants a pup to be able to tree his own coon any night of the week at 8 months old now. Used to be guys would hunt a dog for years to make them a good dog. Alot of these fire crackers are all burnt out at 5 years old. Times and Styles of dogs sure has changed alot.

post on another section about elite dogs. one thing i said is similar to what you just said. i like one that kicks a$$ for years into old age if lucky enough to live that long. not just couple years.

people want everything quick nowdays thats how you win. Turn em loose and theyre looking for a tree but dont hardly hunt 200 yards if that. Alot of these so called coondogs are worthless if they have to go find a track or if the track is more than 10 minutes old. Its not about raising coondogs anymore its about raising competition dogs.
