Turkey Dinner

Did anyone still go out and kill their own wild turkey for their Thanksgiving dinner?

Them wild ones are way to smart for me. Easier to get a turkey roast at local butcher shop. All meat no bones or feathers. Easy to cook.

Happy Thanksgiving

Chuck got one, but we didn't save it for Thanksgiving. I can't be in the kitchen and at the casino at the same time.

When I got to the in-laws this afternoon, the Fire trucks were just leaving and the stove/oven was in the back yard. Thank goodness the kitchen and dining room were not damaged. Grandmother came through with a backup Butterball turkey so Thanksgiving was saved. Now I have one more thing to be thankful for.

Mr. Lambert

You need to tell them that possum fat is highly combustible, nothing like a possum fat fire to stink up the place. Lol. Seriously, I hope every thing was okay and you all had a happy Thanksgiving. Dave

Possum Fat

An old fur buyer here use to throw a possum carcus in the wood stove from time to time. Stove would get so hot, it would start walking around and the sides would start to cave in. Better be keeping an eye on the stove if you burn possum fat.

Where are you? I hope you did not over indulge on possum and sweet potatoes. If you did, you won't be able to hunt for at least a week. Lol. Dave

I put the smoke detector off now and then, but never had to throw the stove out.
Glad grandma saved Thanksgiving.

Rex, thank goodness for Grandma's. Darrin, I bet that a possum or coon would be great to get a campfire going as long as you skinned it first. I guess that the turkey gave new meaning to Butter Ball.
