Thoughts on Garmin Astro 220

Looking to get an Astro 220 what are y'alls thoughts on it and is the dc30 or dc40 collar better

Think you would be a lot better off getting a astro 320 and a T5 Collar

220 goes bad or a dc 30 or 40 and there is no repair for them/

320 and T5 are still be being repaired by garmin. You can buy a new one for around 500 and get a year warranty.

Knowing garmin, they will quit working on the 320 anytime now. I am still using a 220, but I know I am on borrowed time.

I use one every night that I hunt. It's kind of basic but it does what I want it to do and is pretty reliable. The only hold back is range but you can dial that in with better long range antenna's and such on collars and the unit. In the hills I usually get around 700 yards with a DC30 collar and the 220. If you're on a budget, and don't hunt the straight line "alone and deep" on every drop, there's nothing wrong with a 220 and a dc30... I've honestly not noticed a difference in the dc30 and 40 with the 220. You can usually pick up a used one for around $100. Just ask around, I wouldn't spend any more than that on one.
