My pup

Got a 15 month old that has treed 3 coons by him self and had 1 shot out. i hunt him in places with hot coons and he does awesome but when i take him to a thin spot to try it out he breaks down. Is this normal for a pup to do this?

Yep pups gota learn to trail and tree those tough coons , if I had good coons thats all I would hunt it in , they will be some tough ones there too after you thin those hot ones out with it good luck .

I read on this forum last week. The average age of world hunt winners is 6 years old. They don't become coon dogs over night.
