Hey sounds good to me man.
I tell ya though with as long as this neck injury has had me down I'll be hunting in the heat this summer if that's what it takes to get in the woods. I've got plenty of young hounds now that need woods time. I'm not as worried about them getting overheated in those 90 degree nights.
If I can just get it to where I can move and even be able to open my mouth the next day without my nerves being cut off then I'll be out there going until I can go no more. Let me know when you're ready becuase I'm willing to give it a shot now just to try it out. But I might need you to help me back to the truck. For sure after the second round on the other joint of my neck on the 9th of May then hopefully, I'll sure be ready.

Good luck

on your surgery. You will be in our prayers. Luanne will be having her neck done as soon as they repair the valves in her legs. Its going to be a long summer I think. I hope the second half of the year is alot better than the first half. I guess it cant get much worse. How long will you be down after surgery? The doctors told Luanne she wont be able to drive for 5 weeks. Seems like a long time. Are they going to fuse and plate it? Take care and be good.

Shots first

Right now I'm just getting shots trying to hold off until the surgery. The Dr.'s said they'd do the surgeries as I wanted to basically. How many people are in bad enough shape they have a green light on spinal surgery? However, the quicker I have the surgeries the quicker I ultimately end up with my whole back fused together, which will happen before I get to retirement age. So shots it is unless I just can't stand it anymore and then on to surgery, again, trying to hold off for as long as I can on total fusion.

Thought

you were getting another operation. I got a shot in my spine 2 weeks ago. I have to see the doc in a week or so and will ask him why he wont give a injection my neck. The feeling in my left hand is gone most of the time and is gone in my wifes right hand for most part. we are waiting to see what is going to happen to our oldest son with his heart. My nephew is still feeling better and is playing some and getting rides thru out the hospital. My wife is in pain most all the time and saw the vein specialist Wed. They will repair her legs as soon as the insurance goes thru and gives a OK. But on the bright side. The dogs are all doing good in the woods. If it takes them over 20 minutes to tree its a long time. It still doesnt take over 1 minute for the dogs to strike a track. Ive been watching a coon here at home come thru the neighbors yard at nite and go down into the drain pipes that go into the street. He couldnt climb back out so he must be going somewhere in them. Last year a kitten coon was screaming in one and I tried to catch him but he took off and I didnt see him anymore. I suppose the mother came and found him. Also trying to work out a deal on the house in the country where someone stole the boiler and all the piping.I figure if we get a deal on it, it will be worth it. Then we can put a forced air furnace in it instead of a boiler. The breeding we talked about sounds good and will just have to decide which way to go. Also sending you a PM about it. There were a couple people interested in Angel but she wont be going anywhere. I guess I didnt know she was a litermate to the Zukie dog. She is a good little dog and has a good bawl mouth on track with a chop on tree. When we first got her she was rusty and had a bawl on the tree also. On bear she is independent and will usually have her own bear going. We wont hunt her on bear as she is real aggresive and gets bit up alot. We will cat hunt her next year. She missed out on the cats this year because she was in heat. She is a stand on the tree tree dog also. My Ciscoe pup is treeing real hard and loud and when him and my Jabo pup tree they drown out the other dogs. I need to have a couple more females so I can get a couple bred. I have too many good males here now and I have not decided who to use as a stud first. Theres Kid,Dozer,Chief,Ciscoe and Rip. Mike wants to breed Kid first Im not sure who to go with. We are going in a different route with Angel like I talked to you about. Of course I also want to get Ciscoe bred in the near future to keep that line going. We outcrossed with Ciscoe III now will go back to where we started. The young female you have that Im getting will put us right back where we started many years ago. I still cant believe that pup has everything in the line that it has. Talk about luck. You should consider coming up here for a couple weeks to the cabin to chase some bears. If you would like to fly in, it might be cheaper. You can bring your wife or a friend to help cut costs if you would drive. There is always room. Thats all the news here and check your PM box. Heres a pic of Angel also.

I think I may have trouble with this one. To much moma in her.

Daisy is super atheletic and apparently her daughter from Harry is following in her foot steps. She's only 3 months old and already jumping out of the 6 ft. tall pen I put up for these pups, crazy.

Treed!

Well the wife seen a coon cross the road near the house so I figured I'd load up Daisy and Kitty and just give it a wirl. Well Kitty took off on it got treed in pretty deep, around 600 yards, on a den. Daisy hit a lay up right as Kitty got treed though and treed with the meat off of no track at all. On my way to Kitty I could tell she was smelling something in the air but was more worried about Kitty becuase she was deeper. Well by the time I got near Kitty, Daisy pulled up treed herself.
Not bad considering she hasn't been out in about 6 months and only two times in the last 1 1/2 or so. I had to all but beat her to get her back in the pen. It's truely crazy how natural this hound is and the drive to hunt she has when she's only been to the woods around 30 times now, in several years. Of course with my neck I couldn't hardly move the next day and the pills made me get all kinds of lost while I was in the woods. I thought I was going to have to have my wife come get me until the dogs got treed so I had a fixed point to go towards. I followed a trail I made from then on. Here's Daisy treed in the thicket. There really wasn't a tree to tree on as she was treeing in a bunch of vines between two trees rock solid until I got to her. Notice there's no leash holding her there. She's stuck when she trees.

Kitty's

I was only out there for about 45 mins. which had me laid up for over a day but boy was it fun. I sure hope this next shot makes it to where I can hunt some. Not being able to hunt is for the birds.

Well I haven't got to long, now.

The 9th I go in for the next shot in my neck. The pain really hasn't decreased in my neck but useability is way up. I think I may try for a real short round again, like an hour or so, this weekend. Now I just need to get the other joint injected and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to hit the woods. It'll still hurt but at least I'll be able to move. Before I would get locked up and literally couldn't move around.

Going out tommorrow!

I'm going to see if I can go out, tree one, come back to the house, and still open my mouth enough to lead the singing at church, in the morning. Hopefully, I'll have some new pics or vid to put up. I'm not one for recirculating the same old pics.

Just got in from a short round, with Kitty

I haven't been where I could go for a while but I was off today. I will be off tommorrow too. So instead of doing anything all day long today I sat around the house and didn't really do a thing, so I could go coonhunt a little tonight. Was out there for about 2 1/2 hours, my longest trip in a long time, but was in some real open woods. Trouble is there isn't many coon there. Took us about 2 hours and about 2 miles to finally hit one. She treed in a big oak. Leaves are fully on here again. Couldn't find it but very easily could have been there. I can't look up the tree long at all and still be able to walk out of the woods, either. We'll see if I can move tommorrow. If I can I guess I'll sit around the house all day again and try to go tomorrow night.

Not going tonight for sure, to locked up.

I can't hardly move my whole right arm. At least my fingers can move but it's hurting something feirce. Maybe tommorrow night. Definately, do not need to be out that long next time though. Think I'm going to sit still all day.

Still bound up. doing some serious thinking at this point.

I've been at this a long time, about 30 years at this point. I've been coonhunting since I was a little kid but I obviously can't make it to the woods anything near like what I could, with these injuries from Iraq. I don't have anyone local to hunt them for me.

So I'm thinking I need to down size. Maybe three hounds or so instead of the pile that I have and easily could have hunted if I weren't in the shape I'm in. So much for those telling me I needed to tighten it up several notches and those backing them up, you know who you are. I CAN'T! This is putting a hurt on me and something I never dreamed I'd be doing at this age.

Haven't really decided which ones to keep for sure. The two I know aren't going anywhere are GrCh Daisy and her Harry Lady pup out of GrNtCh Harry. Thinking the other one I would keep is going to be the Ann pup out of Dozer and Kitty who has been doing super for what few times she was out or Dixie out of Cryo Joe and Kitty. Daisy becuase I've had her from the start and I promised to make her a NtCh. I told my wife I'll probably have to withdraw from half the hunts I enter becuase I can't make it 2 hours but I do plan to finish her. Lady the pup out of Daisy is exactly what I was breeding for in being the carbon copy of her mom. Ann is a little older than Dixie. I like Dixie's breeding better for sure and she's a super nice little pup herself but with the limited hunting I can do I think I've got a much better shot at finishing two pups that are further apart in age.
I don't know prices yet. Some are already sold if I ever decided to sell them, just a matter of I didn't want to and was hoping for better results than I have had happen.

This is the Kitty x Cryo Joe pup I kept.

This was a few months ago. She's sold already. She's going to a old hunting buddy of, none other than, Bo Parker. She'll be close so I can still see her progress.

If there is something you dont want to sell and want it hunted, just hollar. We hunt quite a bit and would be glad to help you out anyway we can. We are not comp. hunters but hunt alot. Dozer will always be here in Wisconsin along with Kid Rock and both will sire a litter in the future. Take care and we wish you the best.

She's one that's been gone.

I've got three others that said they'd like her but if that falls thru she might be back open. I'm going to be real particular about where she goes. She knows whats up and how to do it. She needs to go to someone who'll hunt her regular and will hopefully finish her out to GrNtCh. It really shouldn't take long for someone to finish her. She's going to do her part and then some. If the others fall thru I'll let ya know. I would still like to see her bred to Jayroe's, NtCh Rock hound but to me her being able to do what she was bred to do is more important.

It was good talking to you saturday, I shot you a pm about the female, Let me know what your thinkin on it. If I can get her going,it might be a good way to go.. (breeding her to Mike).. That would be and Uncle to Niece cross.. Line breeding You have 1 female there that could be finished and bred to a hard treeing son of Ghost... That would in my opinion make an outstanding cross as well.. I bet they would buy her and give her a good home and finish her.. Just a thought..

Just thought I give u the update I just got on A PM. The male pup I got from u went to Travis Oliphant in Mo.He has named him Nitro. The pm said he took Nitro out with his female, she ran a short track and treed and Nitro was at the tree just like I said he would be. The coon accidentally fell out of the tree. Said Nitro was a little stand offish at first , but with a liitle squalling and teaseing he went bugeyed on the coon and did a real good job treeing on a hang up, for the first time he d ever seen a coon. Guess I should have gotten more for him hu? HA HA JUST THOUGHT U WOULD LIKE TO KNOW.

So far so good on Nitro. Nice acting pup with a HUGE mouth. My female is perfect for training a young dog so he'll get a lot of opportunity this year.

Yeah I think this will work out perfect for ya. On the other I'm 4 people deep on her. It would be nice to have her closer though. The one I have thought of if it really goes south is selling off Daisy to them. There is no way I could sell her to anyone that I didn't know very well and her to be close enough that I could see her when I wanted. I really don't see things getting that bad right now but then again never thought I'd be in this shape either. Time will tell. Sure glad to get you fixed up with Twister Sister. I sold off my Kitty x Cryo Joe pup close to so I could keep an eye on her. I'm not in any hurry and trying my best to do the dogs right and taking my time doing it.

That's one thing, kind of like those Ghost pups you've had, I know there are going to go hunting and have good mouths. Past that well alot of it depends on the training. I do know that around here I always thought that a cross wasn't to good if at least 75% them or more didn't make good coondogs. However, from conversations with others more recently and the reproducers list coming out I think I must have been doing better than usual. There again like those Ghost pups you've been popping out over there .

Thanks Steve, man ive been super busy, just got home from a trip to Saline,LA getting a part for my cutting machine, I will get over there soon and pick her up.. again Thanks
