Comp. hunts

I'm planning on getting my cur single registered in ukc. She's not full blooded she's got 1/4 hound in her so she's technically not a mtn cur. I'm gonna list her as treeing cur. Is she still eligible to be in a cur hunt? And also can you hunt a cur in hunts with hounds because I'm not sure in how many cur hunts there are near me

I don't see why a cur couldn't be part of a coon hunt. If it's a coon dog it should be able to compete with other coon dogs. Maybe hound hunters just don't want to get beat idk...

I have had both. They have hunts where you can go win a brand new truck. There isn't a thing stopping you from entering.

From the looks of the other forum it seems that curs don't hunt with hounds. I'm not able to drive to a cur hunt 5 or 6 hrs away. But there are some ukc clubs around me that hunt hounds I just was hoping I could put mine in those

Comp. Hunts

If you know of others not too far away from you who have Curs and / or Feists, maybe you could get together with some of them and get a local club started just for Cur and Feist activities. (?)

Another possibility would be to go to your local coon clubs & ask them if they would consider adding a Cur / Feist hunt on the dates of their coon hunts if you were to come up with names of people who might be interested in doing these events (coon or squirrel).

Just a couple of suggestions which you may have already done.

Good Luck !
