Thanks Brad! I agree with you on the old Arkie look. As far as ability, I can only hope they compare to the old hounds. I was too young to remember much about their ability, but I do know that what I have now suite me well enough to keep feeding them. I'm the only person they have to please.
Hope to see some of you guys at the Round Up in IL this coming weekend!!

Steve it was good to meet you at roundup. Really like the looks of your hound. He is a handsome rascal. Need a gyp to cross into what I have now. Hope all is well. Darren

back at it

Turned ol Jack and Pepper loose last night. Both struck quick took the track 280 yards and got treed p a big hickory. Didn't find the coon for all the brush but sure did make some racket. Jack hadn't been loose since June. Sure enjoying these cool nights!

Lowell, ol Jack's not making any trips to town in the near future. I think I'll just enjoy hunting these dogs at home with my buddies. Speaking of hunting buddies, you're on my hunting schedule!! I'd appreciate it if you keep your stuff tuned up so I can train mine with em!!

I don't remember any of our hunts being that "one sided". Might be Ol' Jack could learn Reb and Jane some new tricks!! Anyway, I start a 3 week vacation tomorrow and would enjoy a hunt and visit any time. Thanks!!!!

Had a real good hunt night before last with Jack and Pepper. Pepper got strike and tree on Jack on a short track. Treed up a big white oak with a big squirrel nest in the top. Couldn't get him to look. The next track, Jack struck took it across a holler, and way up on the next ridge. Rough track over some rough ground and got treed up a big den.
Both dogs are rusty, but didn't have an off bark. Two good track and tree jobs. Pepper's learning to calm down a little and try to get the coon treed right. She's been a pretty high strung female. Got lots of nose but also loves to get treed. When she matures, she be a nice, balanced female. I'll never love her mouth, but I can live with it. She belongs to my son, Wesley who came along also. Would've turned loose again, but it was a school night.

Keep them pictures Steve they are only at home so long. I remember toting my older daughter to the woods when she was 4 years old. She always wanted to go..... Now she is 17 and has boys on her mind and she will be going off to college next year. Our younger daughter still goes with me more than our two boys. My Wife was the same way with her Dad and Grandpa. She always went before her brother or cousin would go. Take care Steve. Have a good season!

Jack's got a big mouth, hunts out good and stays treed. Does a good job drifting a bad track. This was one of the better crosses Tommie Boles made off old Dually. Goes back to Smokey River Cheif on back in his pedigree. Haven't got pups off Jack yet, but plan to in the near future.
Anyone's welcome to come hunt with Jack anytime!

Thanks Lowell!

Well , we've got deer season behind us and now we're tunning up some rusty hounds.
Here's some pictures of this past week's hunts. Got the kids out with me one night. I'm sure looking forward to the rest of the winter!
