Here's how I understand the how the rules apply for the question asked, but I'm young and dumb and have been wrong plenty lol,

Dog C was never shut out, he was struck in before the others treed. he left the tree and was minused BUT his strike is still live and he is still accountable for his strike points.

If the tree had been minused, dog C is minused his strike

If the tree had been plussed, dog C is minused his strike

Since tree is circled, dog C's strike is circled

None of which calls for any deleting

It doesn't matter if he was on a different tree or what happened when we weren't there the out come is the same. His strike points are circled. How is giving the wrong answer to a question making us think? How about the right answer and then point out that at the end of the night that dog could beat you on a tie breaker?

We had this same conversation a while back and I said the same thing although I got more to agree with me last time lol. here is where I am at it don't matter if you are at a tree or in the middle of a bald prairie if a dog quits a track it should be minused just because the rules say different don't make it right. Ok say that tree was slick who got the best deal ? That rule is obsolete it can defiantly punish the wrong dog. I know what it says I got a card setting right here I also know how to twist it what I meant was bob basicly said the dog got a free pass that's what I meant an unfinished track should always be deleted or minused a dog walking into a tree after you get there is an unfinished track jmo.

I think we all can agree that this rule needs changed, but as it stands, we all have to abide by the RULE and not by what we think should be done, If everyone would just go by the RULES in place and not by their take on things, it would be fair to everyone. I see the real problem is when we start applying our own desires and not the RULE itself. If everyone plays by the same rules, it's just as fair to one as it is the other, it's not fair when the RULES are misapplied . Dave

No, it doesn't need changed Dave. PKC has the very same rule except they delete instead of circling because in PKC, hunts are won and lost with circle points. I can't ever recall a UKC hunt won on circle points as a tiebreaker, it's that rare.
The title of this post was "Minor scoring question." and that is just what it is. It shouldn't have gotten 5 responses.

I still think this rule stinks, I believe a dog quitting a track should get minus points period, I will abide by the RULE in place, but still don't like it. We ALL should know the RULES of any game we are playing and abide by those rules if we choose to play. Nuff said! Dave

I see what Tar is getting at. He wants strike deleted so those circle points can't win a tie. Rules plainly say those strike points get circled. Here is the way I see it.... maybe that dog was coming back in to try to pick up the track and move it out and by rule had ti be handled. At least he didn't stick the slick like the two wood monsters!
