With a very heavy heart, I report that Brad "Gomer" Messersmith of New Hampton, Iowa lost the battle that he had been fighting for a little over a year and went to our Lord yesterday. Gomer was a friend to all that knew him and I was lucky enough to know him for several years. Gomer was a "get it done" kind'a guy who always had a smile on his face and a joke for everyone. He sure will be missed.

Prayers go out to Brad's wife Cindy, family members and a multitude of friends scattered across the United States!

Rest In Peace My Friend!

Prayers to the family. Gomer always had a coondog on the end of his leash. He was also a talented farrier and horse trainer. RIP my friend.

Gomer had a way about him that would light up a room! He could tell a story or a joke that would have people laughing so hard you would think your side would bust! It has been a few years since Gomer and I hunted together but I can tell you every night was a story in itself. Gomer knew horses and hounds and you can bet if he was feeding either they were the right kind! My thought and prayers go out to Cindy and the rest of the family!

Bradley "Gomer" Messersmith, age 54 of New Hampton, IA passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services for Gomer will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Holy Family Parish in New Hampton with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 PM on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton and will continue at the church one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday.
