Mr Bruce-Alpha question

Well i feel like a dummy asking so many questions about my Alpha but here I go again. The dog track on the map will just go away. Sometimes not all of it and sometimes the oldest part of the track will show and the newest part won't. I have it set for one hour so that's not the problem. I have declutter on and have done restore. What else do I do?

This is one of those mysteries hard to explain. First thing I would do is go the your trip computer and see how full your storage is. If its approaching 80% or so, then I would reset it.

Why don't you change the setting from one hour to show track and turn it off completely. I will get some more info when I get to the store today and let you know more.

If you get in this situation and ever need to see the track you can always select that dog and push VIEW ON MAP at the bottom of the page. Its a pain but one way to see the track.

Preacher Tom like I said there is still a slight mystery here and after talking to Corey today he said he had the best luck using the 2 hour setting for the tracks. So I would suggest you try that. Second is you said you have declutter on. Actually you should have declutter off which means when you look at the option button it will say declutter on because that is the option you have to push to turn it on with. Once you turn it on it will say declutter off because that is the option you use to turn it off.

In other words if you see
declutter on--that means it is off presently
declutter off--that means it is on.

You want to look at the button and see declutter on unless you have intentionally turned it off to clear some of the info on the screen.

I was able to correct this on mine by clearing the track log. Absolutley no idea why, but it worked for me.

Alpha

Ok guys this is what I have done. Emptied storage on trip computer, it was at 88%, deleted all dog tracks that were saved and yes Bruce I was saying it wrong about declutter. What I see is Declutter on so it is off. I will hunt with it now and see if it works. I think it will. Thanks for the help.

Like Cory said it was probably your track log. It has to drop tracks to put more on and at 88% you were at that range of needing it cleared.

Like many things with it, there are several ways of doing it. Track manager and clear tracks or go to trip computer and reset and you accomplish the same thing. I like to mix it up hoping to bring an understanding of the many ways things can be accomplished.

You may have already done this but deleting unwanted archived tracks helps a bunch too. I try to delete everything every night or every other night I hunt.

Joey all you have to do is go to your tracks and then tell it to "not record"

Fire Archer

You just may be on to something with your recommendation. My Alpha recently started deleting the early part of my dog tracks and I have mine set on two hours like was recommended. My track logs were at 18%, But I then noticed my archive tracks had several old tracks from back in 2015 and some in 2016. Now I never (intentionally) attempted to achieve any track but I noticed many were stored in this section. I have cleared them all out and the next time I go hunting I will see if it helps with my problem.

I was out two nights ago and that danged thing seemed to be deleting the oldest parts of my dog tracks about every 20 minutes even though I have it set for two hours, So we will see if your suggestion helps.

Thanks for all the help from every one.
