worm recovery

i have a female that had hookworms very bad i treated her with safe guard goat wormer for 4 days how long should it take before she starts looking better and picking up weight

If you can find.

Worm her then, I would add a hand full of cracklings to her feed. Cracklings come from rendering lard. Most meat processing places have cracklings. They are pretty much pure fat. They put weight on a dog fast. Dogs love them too.
Once the dog gets to looking healthy and slick, I'd discontinue the cracklings.

PJ, she should start picking up weight pretty quick. I’d follow up with 3 more days of panicur two weeks after the first round of wormer. I’ve had better results with equimax or zimecterin Gold once a month. Just give a pencil eraser sized amount every month and it also has enough ivomec in it for heartworm prevention.

Hookworms drain on the blood, so the veterinary added iron tablets for a supplement when I had one down . Seemed to help him bounce back quickly
