 Alpha 200 range (antennna)

Got the 200 about two weeks ago and have used it everyday but Sundays since I got it and the range sucks. Compared to the 100 that I had with stock antenna I'm lucky to get 800-900 yards out of it. 100 would get close to 1.2 miles almost all the time. Is there an antenna that gets better range or is this a thing of newer is not better?
