Due to housing restrictions, I need a smaller dog. My 16 yr old daughter loves squirrel and grouse hunting. Squirrel meat is awesome. I want a dog that can blood trail big game.

A European Spitz or frost sounds good. Our last dog died at age 11, a wonderful German shorthair pointer.

I live in central Alberta Canada. It is often really cold with a lot of snow when we want to hunt. A Spitz would be more comfortable compared to a shorthaired feist.

Our favorite dog was a malamute Siberian wolf cross. He didn't hunt with us but his personality was amazing. Very little wolf characteristics.

You need to check out the Norwegian Elkhound they were bred to do all the things you want. And they love cold weather. The ones we had were naturals. Good luck with what ever you get.
