In January of 1984, a litter consisting of 5 plott pups hit the ground, 3 males and 2 females. This is a litter that would account for 554 registered puppies produced and 22 nite hunt titled hounds. This litter consisted of ‘PR’ Cannon’s Kansas Moon, ‘PR’ Superior Plott Sage, GRNITECH ‘PR’ Howell’s Bayou Saber, NITECH ‘PR’ Superior Plott Boss, and the topic of our article today, GRNITECH ‘PR’ Sybert & Otto’s Sarge.

When going to back to the Plott breed, Sarge was one that deserved to be highlighted early on. He is a top 5 reproducer in the breed’s history when it comes to number of titled pups produced at 4th overall. He is much lower, however, when considering number of pups produced with 218 pups total. It seems like his owners preferred the quality over quantity way of thinking. Like a lot of the studs we have highlighted, Sarge got an early start with his first litter hitting the ground in October of 1986 when he was still a 2-year-old. This litter also brought on his first titled offspring, NITECH ‘PR’ Sybert & Otto’s Candy out of NITECH ‘PR’ Hershberger’s Ohio Lil.

In August of 1988, Sarge’s most decorated litter when taking hunt and show titles hit the ground out of GRNITECH CH ‘PR’ Sayers’ Silver Crk. Wendy. That litter consisted of 9 pups with 4 of them earning a title including, GRCH ‘PR’ Tena’s Little Man Sarge, CH ‘PR’ Bouldin’s Silver Queen, CH ‘PR’ Rocky Hill Gabbie, and his first Grand Nite Champion, GRNITECH ‘PR’ Sayer’s Silver Crk. Wendy II. His most lucrative litter when considering only hunt titles was born in July of 1992 out of ‘PR’ Cedar Creek Sizzlin Brandy. That litter had 7 pups overall with 3 earning titles, NITECH CH ‘PR’ Hard Treeing Poncho, GRNITECH ‘PR’ Longs Hatchet Mt Spider, and NITECH CH ‘PR’ Sandy Valley Minnie.

Like I’ve mentioned here before, the Plott breed is probably hurt more than any other coonhound breed in terms of the pups being used for purposes other than competition coon hunting. So, if you look at this based purely on percentages, they are often skewed. But Sarge had his fair share of quality hounds produced. Quickly I do want to mention his last 2 GRNITECHs he produced, GRNITECH ‘PR’ Allen’s N. Ga. Plott. Star II out of GRNITECH GRCH ‘PR’ North Ga. Plott Star and GRNITECH ‘PR’ Parkers Midnight Mike out of ‘PR’ Cannon’s Mitzy. Let’s look at his pedigree and numbers.
