Good Looking vs High Score

Been watching some of the hunts results lately. I have started to pay attention to some of these dogs looks more than I have the scores. I know my eyes are old but there sure are some pretty dogs being hunted. After reading this board for the past year. I have come to believe any dog that wins has to babble. Has to be too deep for the common man to get there and to mean to let anything else tree with it. So scores mean nothing to me anymore. Bring on the pretty dogs.

Ya may be surprised at the different kennel manners the show people like as well. Show dogs that hunt good can be a win win.

Why do some people try to hunt their show dogs? If they want to hunt, why don't they just get a hunting dog? And the same goes for people that want to show their hunting dogs?

But I think that Bruce is talking about how good looking some of the hunt winners are these days. But that doesn't mean that they are show dogs. A flat footed or crooked leg dog can still look good in a hunt winner picture.

Mr Osborne on another note, I was told by a guy that was there that several Money pups looked pretty good this past week.

Mr. Osborne, that sure is a pretty Walker pup. I don’t hunt them, but if I ever did I’d want it to look like that little dude.

.

You got it Richard. Some beautiful dogs being hunted. The one Cowboy Dan hunted and sold won several state championships this year along with being best in show at the same hunt. I think the dogs name is Apollo Project now.

Show dogs can be real coondogs too

UKC World Show Champion also UKC Grand Nite Ch. Finley River Little Hawk was obviously a world class show dog who was a 100% coondog.

way back when there was a big fight when the almighty started the bench shows right away the hunters said a show dog must tree his own coon and have a degree but they lost the fight thats why we have 2 different style of dogs in the breed not wanting to argue but just stating facts thanks tim

Hawk has the look I talk about...they are the kind that can get it done alone or with company...

Call it distinguished look or an “air about him”...
