Backing a dog

Got 4 y/o walker make that has never backed another dog on a tree but since been hunting him this year he has done it twice. I'd rather him be alone like he used to. Any suggestions on how to correct. Thanks

refresher course

Turn another dog loose, let it get treed. Have someone go to tree & wait for you to turn yours loose. When it gets there, have buddy ready with green switch or tap dog with little 'electricity' to remind it that is not what you want. Take care, Ron.
