1/2 Kemmer Cur 1/2 Hound Pups

DOB 01/29/2018
Sire- Kemmer Cur
Bitch- Cross Bred Hound
Location- North East Colorado

In full disclosure this was an accidental breeding but it is a cross that could produce some good dogs. Pups should be in the 50-65 lbs. range. They are all colored up the same as the hound side (black or black with some brindle on legs) of the lineage and exhibit hound like faces and ears. They have had their tales docked and dew claws removed.

Please see below for descriptions of the sire & dam as well as pictures of them and the pups.

As mentioned the sire is a dog I bought as a pup from Garrett Fry that is bred on the Striker line his family has been breeding for a very long time. He’s an athletic dog with a big motor on him. He is mainly used on coons and has also been used on lions. He is a dog that has a lot of natural hunt in him, when free casting he will typically range 80-300 yards depending on the cover and if you are walking, roading or horseback hunting. He is extremely gamey but has become much wiser about when to bark and when to bite. His downfall is he doesn’t open when trailing but will on the jump. In terms of a tree dog he is extremely accurate (90% or so accurate). I do like this dog for his ability to catch coons in the summer when they’re hanging out in the big cottonwoods. His fault in treeing is he will try to drift to the down wind side of the tree and try to catch the game’s wind to reassure himself it’s there. He will not park his front feet on a tree, he is constantly moving around the tree.

I acquired the bitch as a 2-year-old last spring from a good friend of mine that outfits in Western Colorado. She comes from some really cold nosed dogs that can catch anywhere in any conditions. They are mainly used on lions but also make good bear dogs. Overall she is a tight built dog and extremely gamey. She will absolutely take a snow track and roll with it. She will be a good dirt dog as well; she simply needs to run some more cats. In full disclosure she does not open much. She will open up when she strikes and then every couple hundred yards while cold trailing. She is a nice tree dog; she doesn’t mill around much and trees pretty hard.

I do not want to give the impression that the parents are the next best things to sliced bread. They are well-bred dogs that have pro’s and con’s. These pups could be used for coon, bobcats, lions, hogs or bears… I can’t honestly say what they’ll be best at. He's treed squirrels as well but I don't encourage it. When we hunt in the daylight its for big game. Going off the parents I can only assume that they will be gamey dogs with a decent brain between their ears. I would like to see these pups go to someone who will hunt them. I have 2 males and 2 females not spoken for.

I am asking $75 a pup. I’m more concerned about these pups going to homes where they will be hunted than money and I think $75 for a pup is fair.I would appreciate it if you would either call or text 970-580-9345. Happy hunting!
