I was at my local Tractor Supply Company the other day and noticed a bag of "Purina Dog Chow-High Protein". Didn't even realize Purina made such a formula.

Anyone have any experience feeding this formula to their coondogs or squirrel dogs?

I have no experience with it and I personally wouldn’t feed it but, Dave Richards recently bought some a few weeks ago. I say when he sees this thread he can give you his view of it.

I bought 3 bags recently, as I wanted to see if it was like the old Purina Hi Pro that I fed and loved. It seems to be close and my dogs seem to love this feed. I ordered from Chewy. Com and choose autoship monthly reorder, I believe that my dogs and myself are going to like this feed and price over the Purina Pro Plan costs. Dave

Do you have a Rural King store near you ?? They have a 30/20 feed there at a great price. It is made by River Run for them. Had great success with it. Had to switch because our gal has allergies to some grains.. Now we use TSC Salmon and Potato no grain feed it is 25/14 and it has been a great feed too. Price ain't so great.....

I’ve bought it also too try. I’ve been feeding half regularl dog chow and half tops prime endurance which is the same as valu pak black bag. Only thing I don’t like is it has peas in it which is what they are linking to heart problems in all the grain free food.

Dave, what's the price of the dog chow hi protein?
I feed dog chow now, but i fed purina hi pro till they took it off the market.

Best 'cheap' dog food out is Rural King "good friends' 30/20 orange bag.

Reason I feed it is it don't have the chemicals in it that are bad for dogs.Was explained to me as a old school type feed.Been feeding it over a year.All dogs look and act great.

Price 29.99 50 pound Chewys.com. Corey, I will keep you posted on results. I fed Purina Hi Pro for years, loved the feed and price. PURINA discontinued the Hi Pro, I think this feed will be in that range and fill in the gap from Dog Chow to Pro Plan or Purina One blends. Dave
