Proof is in the huntin'
I understand one of the long-time hunters who goes back to Buck's foundation went over and took a hunt with Buck and liked about everything to include his track speed. He liked him well enough to book his female. This man goes back to early days Blueticks of southern Okla., along with Ira Fleetwood, Buzz Anderson, J.T. Morgan, Dee Smith, Carl Creswell, et al.
They were around when Earl Kephart and Buzz bred Mountain Music Blue to Kephart's Fannie. The cross produced the first buckskin Blueticks I ever heard about. There were 3 buckskins and four Bluetick pups from the litter. Ira Fleetwood's True Boy Blue was one of the Blue colored pups and when bred to Palmer's Anna Belle Lee produced the kingmaker GRNITECH Smokey River Diamond Jim. Ole Jim carried that buckskin gene, for I used to get one or two per litter--every once in awhile.
