Hunted the girls last night. Jazz and Gyp-Z were pretty much matched as they struck together and worked a bad track to the tree. Jazz located first but Gyp-Z was quick to back her. Could not get in a good location to shine the tree due to the thick underbrush. Made a second turnout and they struck quick and burned the track 700 yds across a pasture and slammed a pecan tree. 2 coons looking down. Pretty good night. Can't wait to get Nail home and put her in the mix.

went over to hunt with travis last night. we took face, sue, rambo, and kate. it started with face and sue treeing a big leafy tree. second drop we had a three way split. face got treed first with sue splitting 150 yards away. Rambo and kate paid no attention to them and went 700 yards north with kate treeing a little before rambo. kate is ten months old and rambo is 17 months. they could care less about the old dogs being treed. that's what I have seen out of hoss pups, independent with alot of sense.

Took Hoss by himself last night. First drop he only went 50 yds and fell treed with a young coon. Sent him again and he struck at 500 yds worked a good track and treed at 927 yds. It took a bit to get coon to look but finally got an eye. Was back to the house for the 10 o'clock news. I have yet to drop a coon out to Hoss. He is the type hound that enjoys being praised for a job well done without destroying the prey!

Tried one of my new spots out last night. Took Mator and Jazz. They struck off the leash and ran hot tracks. They split treed about 75 yards apart and both had coons.

Took Hoss for a round last night. 10 minutes went by without a bark. When he struck, I knew he was deep as could hardly here him. I began the long walk in his direction when I heard the 3 long bawl locates switching to the chop he does so well. The tree was a huge red oak with grape vines matted all over the tree. Never could get the coon to look but I know Hoss thought he was right and that is all the matters to me. 1.25 miles back to the truck.

Didn't have a very good hunt last night. Mator treed about 250 yards from the truck. As we were headed into tree, we heard a loud thump and he quit treeing. Looked at Alpha and he went back to the truck. Something scared him to the point of him crawling under the truck. There was evidence of feral hogs in the area but I have never had a problem with them running dogs off of trees.
