Northern Indiana/Southern Michigan in my experience.

Good coon population and nice clean woods.

The only bad thing is all the cold and snow in the winter time.

I would love to try one of those good places. I hunted some near northern va and the woods were pretty good. Now i've been living in central coast nc for the past 10 years. it's tough hunting here. swamps, or pine forest. but still, i have a huge place to hunt and very few others to bother me.

find where the indiana and ohio state line meets michigan on the map, set your drafting compas at fifty miles and draw a circle from that point.
Within that circle is the best coonhunting ive ever experienced.
There may be somewhere better but ive never seen it.

i would agree with elvis northern ohio eastern indiana and michigan i live in ne ohio and the coon population is very good but you get over towards uppersandusky near the pkc spring classic or toward angola In or lower michigan those thousand points scores are very reasonable

I would have to say Tennessee for the season times.Starts Sept. 15 and run all the way to Feb 28. Coon numbers are good, but the only down side is coon size.Average coon size is 12 to 15 pounds very few 18 and over.If you like flat land there are tons of river bottoms, and if you want hills we got them too...All around good coon huntin here in Tennessee.

depends what you're looking for. if numbers of coon is your criteria i would say elvis is right. if consistent big coon is what you want i would say western mn, eastern nd. if your just looking for over all good hunting its tuff to beat southern mn and iowa, good sized coon and seems to be plenty of them. typicaly plenty of good safe ground to hunt as well.

Central Mass. sucks, low coon population, thick woods and many beaver swamps..The best area I've hunted is eastern Indiana and north central Ohio..
