Hunted with several out of box i have 2 on my place as we speak. 1 18 month old with $433 won in pkc and 2 ukc first place wins. Quick honest strike dog with a decent mouth. Very hard tree dog. Better be ready to go hunting when u
Cut him loose. Split treed with his first coon at 7 months old and did it in style. Ive hunted close to 20 box pups and they all seem to start pretty easy. Very gamey will run any thing with a track and tree anything that goes up. Most can move a track but some cant. Willy won the spring 1 yr old ss last spring and finished in the top 6 of the world hunt. Box crosses good over skuna river bark females, homer bred females, ratt attack females and trackman females are my favorite crosses. You can call or text me with any questions 270-832-1917

Yes weego has been bred to a gyp. Ive never seen a half brother or sister cross or a line bred cross back to box. I have thought of that as well.

My buddy just brought a 3yr old male out of him. That is a coon treer that gets it done quick. Probably 95% or higher accurate. I include legitimate dens in the % but he doesn't have many dens. He is the real deal. He was listed in Lockbox American Cooner stud ad when he was hunted in $kc. Dog name was Shaggy and now he's called Shaker.

Thats my dad. Charles Daugherty. He started shaggy as a pup and sold him. Very nice pup. Would flat go hunting. Who owns shaggy now? We lost track of him. We have been hunting the lockbox breed for a while now. Shaggy would flat go hunting and yes he was very accurate. Most of the box dogs are. I think
Dad sold him to keith husbands pretty cheap cause he was gettin out of coon hunting for awhile.

I've got a few questions about Lockbox pups!!! I know I've seen several smaller made hounds out of Lockbox, are most his pups smaller hounds? Are the majority of his pups BIG MOUTHED or have good houndy mouths? Are they cold nosed hounds, or can they handle a bad track?

most are smaller, most have big big mouths for their size...some sound like lions and are only 45lbs....pretty darn good track dogs for todays hounds. quick to learn, very gritty, but not mean. Lots of fire in them. they are young men hounds. They have lots of independence bred in and lots of drive. run a track to catch. Have seen some young ones catch coons on the ground. Heard of a couple that ran and caught buck deer. Not to say they are junky, but they have so much drive you need to stay on top of off game early. You start them right and you wont have any trouble.

Most of them are around 45-50 lb dogs. Some get bigger. I have one here now
Will probably go 65-70lbs most have good mouths. Some dont. Alot of people let them bark out as pups. They will do some barking now if u dont keep a bark collor on them when u go penning them up. Very natural starters. They pretty much start their selves. And they are meat dogs. If its got meat on it they will run it if u let them. Seem to be pretty decent track dogs once their 2-3 yrs old. They dont spend alot of time in one place and they will go hunting. Most of all when they tree they have a coon. Very accurate. Now im not gonna sit here and say their all like this but the majority are.

Lockbox pup wanted

I really want a pup or young dog off box preferably female and smaller in size that is colored up like box. But would take a male if he was small enough and loud. Just not into great big hounds all my dogs are mostly hardwood swamp bred and they are small and athletic and fast with big mouths and accurate And box seems to be throwing a lot of these same traits, if any of you guys can help me find what I'm looking for I would greatly appreciate it !!!
