Erhlichiosis

Has anyone every dealt with this tick carrying disease before? How long did it take for recovery? Did the hound recover completely?

I looked it up & says Doxycycline is what you should treat it with. People can catch it, also!!!

Had a beagle get it once. Ended up having to put it down. He was prescribed Doxy, but it only masked the symptoms, then the vet gave him a steroid and got a little better but was to far along.

Erhlichiosis

She has been on minocycline since Tuesday night. Still not better. Sleeps all the time. Won't eat hardly anything. Also won't drink much. She had very pale gums and eyes on Tuesday but know her eyes are bloodshot and her gums are really bright pink almost red. Hoping she comes around.

I don't know how far you are from the UW Vet School but it would be worth it to get another opinion on this one.
