Looking stupid most the hunt because of not being hunted and just coming out of heat, Maggie managed to pull off a cast win with a 1st and 1st on the last dump. She only placed 3rd in the hunt, but that was all she needed to make NtCh.
Maggie is out of a cross with Derek Metzler's Hiedi female and Jeb. There will be a few more titled dogs to come from this cross. Maggie's sister Hazel who is owned by Derek only needs a 4th or better now to make NtCh. This cross looks like it was a "supercross".
Maggie will be bred next time she comes in heat. I have not decided for sure who to yet though. I'm allways open to suggestions on who she would cross well with on paper. As for traits, the stud I pick will have to be strong where Maggie is lacking a little, which is she is not a 1st strike type of dog and she could use more volume. When hunted up Maggie is a solid little coondog though. Independent, can move a track fast and is quick to get treed and stay put. This is what Maggie's ped looks like.
