Purina Nationals Final Four Play by Play
This coming Saturday night you will be able to follow along with a Play-by-Play of the Final Four at the Purina National Championship right here on the Coonhound Forum.
The Final Four will go out in a late round on Saturday. Approx. start time should be around midnight or soon after. Watch the Coonhound News Page for the results throughout the weekend. Here are the rules for the Purina Nationals.
Purina National Championship Hunt Rules
ľ Three-dog casts (two-dog casts in the event of odd numbers).
ľ Dogs are drawn together regardless of category.
ľ UKC Championship rules in effect.
ľ 90 minute hunts for all rounds.
ľ Pre-selected hunting judges in Rounds 1 & 2.
ľ Dog must compete duration of hunt, unless scratched.
ľ Formal Complaint procedure not in effect.
ľ Any dog that is scratched or withdrawn, for any reason, is no longer eligible to compete in any subsequent rounds. The dog is eliminated from any further competition in the Purina National Championship.

Eligibility
1. Highest combined double Cast Win scores.
2. Single high cast win score.
Final Four Cast Rules
ľ A total score of plus points is not required in the Final Four. Any dog that is scratched will place in the order it was scratched. In the event more than one dog is scratched simultaneously, placement is determined via eligibility requirements for Final Four. If at any time only one dog remains, the hunt will be over and that dog is the winner.
Breed Winners
ľ Determined via final order of placement in Final Four.
A ¡§placing¡¨ method will be used to determine any other breed winners not in the Final Four as follows:
1. Highest combined double cast win scores.
2. Single high cast win score from either night.
3. Highest non-cast win score from either night.
Ties
1. All ties to be broken via Rule 16, with exception to hunting in one hour interval(s) or flipping a coin.
2. If still a tie, non-cast winning score is considered.
3. If still a tie, then dogs involved may choose option to hunt in one hour interval(s) or flip a coin, if all parties agree.
Note: If tie in question involves advancing to Final Four then hunting in one hour interval(s) is not an option.
