Well my little Bird project got to see its first ringtail yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised to see her adrenalin pump when she got her first dose of coon scent. She sure liked the smell of that rascal, and she became a little gamey (if you know what I mean) when she got up personal with her passion.

Love working those pups!!!

I talked to Bub Casdorph this week he mentioned he was going to try to get up to your club for an HTX hunt. I have been wanting to see his OL dog go and have him hunt with my Bluspeck dog I was hoping to plan a road trip if possible. If Bub and I can coordinate it could you possibly take us on a pleasure i your neck of the woods?

Thanks Rory for the update, I sure hope Mom and all the puppies get along well. I'll keep all my fingers and toes crossed for good luck, LOL. Look forward to seeing you at E-days as well. Sounds to me like you guys are bringing some NICE young dogs for this event. Wishing you all the best of luck.

Dave, took sam out last night both drops treed once in a den and found the second one he paid no intrest in what daves little female was doing i think he is going to be a split treeing dog most of the time must be tired of getting chewed on

Hello Mike, Good the hear you have Ole Sam a cranking. Thanks for taking me hunting with him, he is going to be a dandy. He is a nice hound right now but he will still get better in the coming year.

Polish him up my friend as English Days is just around the corner. We will have a blast and get to meet some great people that weekend.

Hello Doug, I did have a great time at English Days. I had to drive to Logansport on Friday night, man is that a long trip over there. Treed 4 coons but no dog in the cast got under more than two so no big score on that night.

Second night I drew Seth and his fine hound who was high scoring hound on Friday night. Seth's hound showed me a coon in every tree he made having 1st and first on 4 trees and I seen every coon.

Holly covered Seths dog on the first drop, then had 3 trees by herself but only saw a coon in one of those three trees.

But I sure did enjoy the hunt and meeting up with the many old friends.

I would love to get back down to hunt with you sometime soon. Take Care for now, I love reading your posts and keeping up on all those young dogs out of LE

Hit the skids

Well it isn't looking real good for Holly,Bird, and I, as my old trick knee, (35 year old soft ball injury) is giving me fits. It has been bothering me ever since I returned from English Days. It Blew out last weekend walking down the sidewalk to church. I went to a specialist last Wed. at Ohio State. They have ordered an MRI to determine the damage. Guess I'll know more on the 14th when I go back to talk to my Doc.

In the mean time, Holly (I guess) will be lying under the shade of her Big White Oak, LOL!!!

Well got my bad new today. Doc says I have a torn ACL and a torn Meniscus. Said the recovery time is somewhere from 31/2 to 5 months before he will let me go to the woods with a brace. Surgery is scheduled for Aug 12th. That is going to put me right up against opening night to somewhere toward christmas before I will be back in the timber.

I hope Ole Holly comes in heat so I will have not have to fret about taking her hunting on those cool fall nights.

To all you young hunters, enjoy each night like it is your last, as you just never know when your going to be put up on the shelf for a while, LOL

I guess maybe me and this ole computer will have to do till the knee gets good enough to go.

Dave I will keep on hunting ole Sam u keep watching that baseball team on t.v I think they r called the reds I got sam in the woods and u on the couch at least u can catch up on ur naps and so at least u will still stay pretty LOL

Thank You Doug. Man I hope it goes by fast. I think A good buddy of mine may have just purchased A male pup off LE and Witch (I Think) This is the pup that Travis Six owned. My friend Chris told me he was going to pick the pup up on Sunday, but I have not yet had the time to find out if he got the pup bought or not. Said he showed the pup a caged coon and he went ballistic. Said he looked a lot like LE. I'll get back to you about that when I find out for sure.

Now to you Big Mike. Don't forget to take me to a couple of hunts when you go. I sure would like to see Ole Sam go again. As for me being pretty, I'm not sure I can get enough sleep to find that fountain of youth but I sure do appreciate the kind thoughts on that subject, LOL!!

Dang man! Hate to hear about your rotten luck. Maybe the Doc. don't know as much as he thinks about ole Super Dave! When hunting season cranks off I bet you will be able to hear that leg mending! All the best to ya my friend, but if it takes awhile, this computer coon hunting ain't too bad

Thanks Dave for the boost of confidence. I told my wife my 3 months of physical therapy would end about the 2nd night of coon season, and maybe I can talk that doc into developing a new brace for me to coonhunt in, LOL!!

On a serious note, I do appreciate the well wishes, Take Care and have fun hunting.

Thank You Terry as well. I know you just came through a similar situation so you probably have a better idea of what I'm in for than I do, LOL. I sure do appreciate your support. Looks like I'll miss the Oaks this fall, but hopefully by next year at English Days I'll be able to run with the young bucks, LOL. Now that is some serious wishful thinking.
