Long or course hair

Long hair commonly known as course hair in blueticks. If your dog only has course hair on it's ears and the rest is short tight hair it may grow out of it. But some blood lines of blueticks are known for throwing long or course hair pups. They never grow out of that and they generally reproduce the same. It's not a fault in the bluetick standard, but the course hair is never as pretty as a slick hair dog, in my opinion. Doesn't affect anything but looks. What is your pup out of?

Had a female B&T one time that was a natural bench show dog that was never beaten and several judges told me that she probably never would be, beautiful coat as you ever saw, only problem was she was part redbone and during the winter she had a long rough red ragged coat but in the spring she shed the long red hair and was slick as glass. A pretty good coondog as well until that pickup truck ended our relationship one night!
