New hound

I have never bought a finished dog from out west but have bought pups. So not a expert in this topic, but q few questions I have to possibly help.

Did you know the person you got the dog from or buy under the tree?

Do you hunt the same way/style as the previous owner did?

Are you hunting it alone or with a pack? I have gotten new dog locally that took a bit to run with the pack, heck I went and ran with a friend this summer and my dogs ran like crap. They couldn't keep up and made losses. I am not sure what happened, I have ran that area before and never had issues. But I had dogs leaving the jumped bear to cold trail another pulled them off that one and put them back on the one we had.running. I can't explain it but on mile 26 the bear was still pulling a gap and dogs did not look well. Next day ran back where I normally do no issues jumped and treed the bear like they are supposed too.

Do you feed the dog the same as the previous owner? This is something I am looking into more for personal trial. The bandits of feeding twice a day compared to once a day.

Well you covered all my thoughts on things to look at. Maybe you just have to give the dog a little longer to get used to the area or his new home. Best of luck and happy hurting
